Good food nation event series comes to an end

From January - June 2017 the Scottish Food Coalition hosted five events on different themes related to the Good Food Nation Bill, with national and international experts outlining the key issues and opportunities for the forthcoming legislation.

- Scotland's Good Food Nation Bill in a global context, with Professor Corinna Hawkes
- What does the right to food mean in Scotland? with UN Special Rapporteur Hilal Elver
- Food & the Environment: How what we eat impacts the planet, with Professor Tim Benton
- Food: A solution to a health crisis, with Mads Frederik Fischer-MØller
- Scotland's food: Farming for the future, showcasing Scotland's innovative farmers 

These events highlighted the urgency of addressing food systems challenges, and the opportunity Scotland has to take a framework approach that delivers progress across social justice, health, the environment and the economy.

Public consultation on the Good Food Nation Bill is due to begin in the autumn of 2017, the Scottish Food Coalition hopes to involve as many people as possible in the development of this new food policy. Sign up to our newsletter to stay in the loop.
