A Good Food Nation for Scotland: Why and How
With good governance, Scotland’s Food System can offer many positive deliverables - from resilient local economies to better educational attainment, prospering rural communities, healthier population and work force, reduction in greenhouse gases and a thriving natural environment. There is general political agreement on the urgent need to transform the Scottish food system - but we lack consensus on how to achieve it.
The Good Food Nation Bill offers Scotland a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be a world leader in food system change. This report argues that, whilst there are severe issues in our food system, we know how to fix it.

Plenty: Food, Farming and Health in a New
Scotland

What does the future of food look like? There is no reason why we shouldn’t have plenty of good food for everyone in Scotland. We have the people and the resources to make it happen, but we need a coherent strategy that joins the dots. Our first report Plenty: Food, Farming and Health in a New Scotland describes a food system that is environmentally sustainable, socially just, and delivers high levels of wellbeing, it sets out the vision, makes the case for change, and some steps for getting there.

Kitchen Table

Talks Report

Between February and April 2018, over 800 people discussed the future of Scotland’s food system in Kitchen Table Talks. Conversations took place from the Scottish borders to the Shetland Islands, around dinner tables, in town halls, community gardens and allotments, at Universities and places of worship.
Kitchen Table Talks made clear that people care about the future of Scotland’s food and have strong views on what the Scottish Government could do to transform the food system: there is huge public appetite for a national conversation on the future of our food.
