We believe there is strength in working collectively. Though individual organisation members have different priorities, as a Coalition we believe no issue is more important than the others: from workers' rights to wildlife loss, from diet-related ill-health to food poverty, all of these challenges are urgent and can be solved more effectively by looking at the system as a whole.
We campaigned for a new law on food, a Good Food Nation Bill, that takes a whole system approach. We advocated for this ground-breaking legislation to offer a coherent framework - one that ensures the food system contributes to everyone's health and wellbeing; that values the work to put food on our plates; that supports high animal welfare and sustains our wildlife, natural resources and environment for generations to come. The Good Food Nation (Scotland) Bill was passed into law on Wednesday 15 June, 2022. You can read a summary of the earlier stages in the legislation process here.
