2021 - 2022

2020

Good Food Nation Workshops

Picture
The Good Food Nation campaign went on tour in 2020. Our Good Food Nation Ambassadors and Coalition members worked together to deliver a series of workshops across Scotland. The workshops raised awareness of the challenges facing our food system, the campaign and the unmissable opportunity that the Good Food Nation bill offers to transform the food system.
The workshops encouraged participants to see themselves as active participants in the food system, and highlighted the actions they could take to support a socially and environmentally just food system.

2018-2019

Right to Food Stunt

Picture
In celebration of International Human Rights Day, the Scottish Food Coalition organised an event with MSPs outside of Parliament on the 10th of December 2019. The event involved food bank managers, farmers, Coalition members and GFN Ambassadors dressed in high-visibility security jackets with labels such as “junk food advertising” or “lack of access to land.” These individuals represented the barriers blocking Scotland from achieving the Good Food Nation vision of a healthy, sustainable and fair food system. 11 MSPs shared lunch with us as we talked about our vision for a Good Food Nation bill centred around social and environmental justice.

Ambassador Reunion

Picture
On the 28th of September we held a reunion for our Ambassadors. The event included an update on the progress of the Good Food Nation Bill, and the fantastic consultation results (scroll down to read more). We also enjoyed some presentations from some of our Ambassadors on successful events, social media and press engagement. We used the rest of the session to explore the role of gathering stories and communicating them to journalists, policy-makers, businesses and members of the community. The session finished off with a chance to stretch our creative muscles, exploring different forms of communicating the Good Food Nation message via video, posters and poetry.
