Do you think the food system needs to be changed?

Are you interested in making sure food in Scotland is healthy, fair, sustainably produced and accessible to all?

Become a Good Food Nation Ambassador

What does it mean to be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors volunteering with the Scottish Food Coalition raise awareness on the issues our food system is facing. They also work to understand what the concerns of their communities are and amplify their voices. We are keen for ambassadors to do this work in whichever way suits their skills and abilities.

So whether you are a social media connoisseur, a persuasive speaker, an artist, a musician; or have any other skills and would like to use these to change Scotland's food system, we would love to have you on our team!

The role offers remuneration  for travel expenses and a budget to deliver activities.
*Please note: If you would like to apply as a group, do get in touch and we can discuss how we may be able to support you.

Becoming an Ambassador shifts your role from consumer to shaper of the food system. Ambassadors amplify the voices in their communities and use them to steer the food system towards one that is fair and resilient for all, be it for people, animals or the planet.

Why become an Ambassador?

Who can become an Ambassador?

Good Food Nation Ambassadors are instrumental in our movement to change the food system. They help bridge the gap between grassroots organisation and policy-making by engaging with their local communities and amplifying their voices. Ambassadors can make sure that everyone's voice is heard. The Ambassadors supported 1600 people from communities across Scotland to engage with the governmental consultation on the Good Food Nation Bill.

How do I become an Ambassador?

How will I be supported as an

Ambassador?

Drop us an email to  info@foodcoalition.scot. stating your interest and we will schedule a phone call to talk about the role! You can also read more about it in the Starter Pack below.

  • If a training is scheduled around the time of the application, you will be provided with training, where the Scottish Food Coalition will take you through the background to the law, introduce you to the key messages and asks, and work together on some engagement strategies. If a training is not scheduled a meeting or phone call will be arranged with the Scottish Food Coalition to go over everything you need to know.
  • You will receive regular updates from the Scottish Food Coalition with the latest news.
  • In addition to ad hoc support, you will have the opportunity to join periodic conference calls or meetings to discuss any questions or issues.
  • You will join a network of Ambassadors on social media to share tips, ideas and strategies.
